Luke's 1st Birthday

At 1 year old:
Luke weighs 26.8 lbs
wears size 4 diapers
wears size 18 months clothing
 Has 3.5 teeth
takes 2 naps a day
eat solid foods at every meal and is transitioning off of formula and on to milk


Luke got his first hair cut just before his first birthday


















Luke has started to walk a week before his first birthday.

Is wearing big boy shoes.  at first he did NOT like them and wouldn't walk in them at all



Luke is starting to throw little fits when he doesn't get his way.  Luckily they don't last long






















He is very adventurous and tends to get stuck in funny places.



I didn't want to do a big party celebration for Luke's 1st birthday.  I just wanted a small celebration with family.  I started a tradition of putting the number of balloons in his room for the age he is turning.  Here he is with his first balloon for his first birthday.









 










I also started a tradition of writing a letter in this book for every single birthday.  I am making Richie do a letter too.  I'm not really sure when I will give it to him.  Maybe when he goes off to college?  I'm sure I'll find a time that is right.

Trash the Dress Photo Shoot

One of the ideas that I KNEW i wanted to try after my wedding was a "trash the dress" photo shoot.  I am a photography snob and I wanted pictures that would be beautiful and creative and unique.  As soon as I mentioned it to my photographer he was immediately on board with the idea.  I am so pleased with how they turned out.  I highly encourage any bride who wants memorable photographs to give it a try.  I didn't (and still don't) have a preconceived notion that my future daughters will want to wear my dress.  I want them to wear their own dress and create their own memories.  So I wasn't worried about "ruining" the dress.  This was also the same location that we got married at too so it was special to come back to the same place.  Getting into the water   The beautiful waterfall  I loved the black and white shots  Finally laying down in the cool waters     again i loved the bl...

yup... another rant

So in a previous blog post , I mentioned my disdain for my current professor.  It seems that my professor has yet again made me want to scream in frustration.  I have turned in 3 papers starting 5 weeks ago.  He has just NOW graded them this weekend and provided me with the following feedback.  In timeline order: Friday night first paper grade of 90 - He mentions formatting is not quite what he was looking for and tells me to look at Lieber Light Case as example.  Direct Quote " You earned a 90% on your Palladium case brief.   If you make the above changes to your next case it will improve the readability and flow of the case." (The Lieber Light case is actually different than the handout he gave us in class.  I followed the example he gave us in class and I don't recall him EVER saying to follow the Lieber Light example.  AND i can't do it on my next paper because he took 5 freaking weeks to grade it and i'd al...

Hopes and Dreams

Richie and I have been trying to get pregnant since August/September.  It's been a really frustrating process to say the least.  At first things seems to be pretty regular and I figured it was only a matter of time.  But then somewhere in February my body decided to pack up shop.  I won't go into the details but it left me despairing that my body was failing me.  Month after month I was beyond frustrated.  So much so that my Dr. finally suggested a medicine called clomid that is a low dose fertility drug that regulates your ovulation.  So i took the first dose of it in May.   Meanwhile very, very few people knew of our plans because we didn't want the pressure of people watching us and waiting for it.    Then the Sunday of mother's day I woke up after having this dream:  Richie and I were sitting on the couch in my parents house.  My whole family knew that I was pregnant already but they didn't know I had ...
