Random (and not so random) Acts of Kindness

So my New Years Resolution was to do one random (or not so random) act of kindness a month.  I believe in karma and that what you put out into the world comes back to you tenfold.  So here is my list of things i've done so far.  I will update it as I continue doing things:

1.  Bought Starbucks for the person behind me in the drive thru line
2.  Send a care package to a homesick friend who is out of the country
3.  Send an unexpected gift to someone
4.  Tape some $1 on the vending machine with a note for people to enjoy a free soda
5.  Send an unexpected baby gift to someone you haven't seen in a really long time
6.  Sent a gift card to a military veteran
7.  Send out letters for every single day in November - mostly thank you letters
8.  Mail out care packages for some soldiers serving overseas during holiday times
9.  buy a gift for a needy child during Christmas time
10.  give a Starbucks gift card to a man I see every day during my commute who is always waiting with his 3 kids at the bus stop.  he looks like a super dad!

I know I'm forgetting some!  Dang it!  Why didn't I write them down as soon as I did them???

Trash the Dress Photo Shoot

One of the ideas that I KNEW i wanted to try after my wedding was a "trash the dress" photo shoot.  I am a photography snob and I wanted pictures that would be beautiful and creative and unique.  As soon as I mentioned it to my photographer he was immediately on board with the idea.  I am so pleased with how they turned out.  I highly encourage any bride who wants memorable photographs to give it a try.  I didn't (and still don't) have a preconceived notion that my future daughters will want to wear my dress.  I want them to wear their own dress and create their own memories.  So I wasn't worried about "ruining" the dress.  This was also the same location that we got married at too so it was special to come back to the same place.  Getting into the water   The beautiful waterfall  I loved the black and white shots  Finally laying down in the cool waters     again i loved the bl...

yup... another rant

So in a previous blog post , I mentioned my disdain for my current professor.  It seems that my professor has yet again made me want to scream in frustration.  I have turned in 3 papers starting 5 weeks ago.  He has just NOW graded them this weekend and provided me with the following feedback.  In timeline order: Friday night first paper grade of 90 - He mentions formatting is not quite what he was looking for and tells me to look at Lieber Light Case as example.  Direct Quote " You earned a 90% on your Palladium case brief.   If you make the above changes to your next case it will improve the readability and flow of the case." (The Lieber Light case is actually different than the handout he gave us in class.  I followed the example he gave us in class and I don't recall him EVER saying to follow the Lieber Light example.  AND i can't do it on my next paper because he took 5 freaking weeks to grade it and i'd al...

Hopes and Dreams

Richie and I have been trying to get pregnant since August/September.  It's been a really frustrating process to say the least.  At first things seems to be pretty regular and I figured it was only a matter of time.  But then somewhere in February my body decided to pack up shop.  I won't go into the details but it left me despairing that my body was failing me.  Month after month I was beyond frustrated.  So much so that my Dr. finally suggested a medicine called clomid that is a low dose fertility drug that regulates your ovulation.  So i took the first dose of it in May.   Meanwhile very, very few people knew of our plans because we didn't want the pressure of people watching us and waiting for it.    Then the Sunday of mother's day I woke up after having this dream:  Richie and I were sitting on the couch in my parents house.  My whole family knew that I was pregnant already but they didn't know I had ...
