Summer Fun "To-Do" List

One of my friends has a summer to-do list with activities to complete with the family.  I love this idea because there are days where I think "what can I do???"  This will help Luke and I experience lots of little and big things this summer so that no days are wasted. 

1.  Complete an act of kindness - done!  We paid someone to mow our neighbors yard because they had just had a baby 2 weeks ago and their yard was getting tall.  I remember how I felt after I had Luke and I didn't want to do any of that kind of stuff. 


2.  Eat frozen yogurt (we cheated and ate ice cream!)



















3.  Go to sea world



4.  Go swimming - done!  We love to swim at Nana and Papa's house!























5.  Outdoor movie
6.  BBQ
7.  Go on a hike
8.  Visit the zoo




















9.  See a waterfall
10.  Side walk chalk




11.  Play in the rain  -  done!  But I didn't get a chance to take any pictures.  Maybe sometime this week!

12.  McKenna children's museum (we actually went to the Doseum downtown)




13.  Go to the beach





14.  Bake cookie or cake and decorate
15.  Water balloon fight
16.  Visit splash pad
17.  Create gak
18.  Visit the library for reading hour (We actually went to a cute place called The Purple Chair)



19.  Paint

20.  Go to a playground - done!  often and often

21.  Go down to the pearl brewery area
22.  Go to the pet store
23.  See fireworks

24.  Visit a mission
25.  Go on a picnic (we did this in California but I didn't get any pics)
26.  Make smores





















27.  splash and "wash dishes" in the sink



28.  darkened room and play with flashlights




















29.  collect rocks while on a walk
30.  make soapy sensory bottle
31.  Hammer and golf tees and play dough
32.  movie night complete with popcorn and candy!
33.  bean bin with scoops and measuring cups

Trash the Dress Photo Shoot

One of the ideas that I KNEW i wanted to try after my wedding was a "trash the dress" photo shoot.  I am a photography snob and I wanted pictures that would be beautiful and creative and unique.  As soon as I mentioned it to my photographer he was immediately on board with the idea.  I am so pleased with how they turned out.  I highly encourage any bride who wants memorable photographs to give it a try.  I didn't (and still don't) have a preconceived notion that my future daughters will want to wear my dress.  I want them to wear their own dress and create their own memories.  So I wasn't worried about "ruining" the dress.  This was also the same location that we got married at too so it was special to come back to the same place.  Getting into the water   The beautiful waterfall  I loved the black and white shots  Finally laying down in the cool waters     again i loved the bl...

yup... another rant

So in a previous blog post , I mentioned my disdain for my current professor.  It seems that my professor has yet again made me want to scream in frustration.  I have turned in 3 papers starting 5 weeks ago.  He has just NOW graded them this weekend and provided me with the following feedback.  In timeline order: Friday night first paper grade of 90 - He mentions formatting is not quite what he was looking for and tells me to look at Lieber Light Case as example.  Direct Quote " You earned a 90% on your Palladium case brief.   If you make the above changes to your next case it will improve the readability and flow of the case." (The Lieber Light case is actually different than the handout he gave us in class.  I followed the example he gave us in class and I don't recall him EVER saying to follow the Lieber Light example.  AND i can't do it on my next paper because he took 5 freaking weeks to grade it and i'd al...

Hopes and Dreams

Richie and I have been trying to get pregnant since August/September.  It's been a really frustrating process to say the least.  At first things seems to be pretty regular and I figured it was only a matter of time.  But then somewhere in February my body decided to pack up shop.  I won't go into the details but it left me despairing that my body was failing me.  Month after month I was beyond frustrated.  So much so that my Dr. finally suggested a medicine called clomid that is a low dose fertility drug that regulates your ovulation.  So i took the first dose of it in May.   Meanwhile very, very few people knew of our plans because we didn't want the pressure of people watching us and waiting for it.    Then the Sunday of mother's day I woke up after having this dream:  Richie and I were sitting on the couch in my parents house.  My whole family knew that I was pregnant already but they didn't know I had ...
