Year End Review - 2018

As I get older, these posts are a way of remembering things better.  There's so much to remember and I forget daily!

January 
We celebrated Luke's 5th birthday with a PJ Masks themed birthday party!  Luke is starting to get to be more independent. 




















February 
I turned 34 and celebrated with some friends at 1908 house of wine.
 




March
Ellis started daycare for the first time.  She adapted well to the situation.  We purchased a brand new car!




















April
Luke learns how to read!  We are SO proud of him, and he is so excited about it!  We also celebrated Easter.




















May
We celebrated Ellis's 2nd birthday!  Ellis transitions to a toddler bed.  Luke graduated from Pre-K.  We also flew to Utah for my cousin's wedding.  Our entire family took family pictures this month. 





















June
Mommy left on a two week trip to Europe.  The kids did great without Mommy which made it easier on all of us.  They had a chain to countdown the days until I got home.  It was the trip of a lifetime to go to Croatia and Budapest!  I loved every single minute.

July
Luke learned how to swim without his floaties




















August
Richie starts his new job at Halliburton.  He loves it.  We spent our last few days before going back to school at the Frio.  Luke starts Kindergarten!
























September
Luke starts Karate. 




















October
Family Painting Pumpkin day.  Luke dressed up as spiderman and Ellis dressed up as Moana for Halloween.  Uncle Matt and Aunt Dedra got married as well as Uncle Eric and Aunt Tanya.

Sweet 17 Months

Luke: weighs approx. 27 lbs not sure how tall has 8 teeth and one coming in wears size 5 diapers wears size 2T clothing wears size 6 shoes Takes 1 nap - approximately an hour and a half during the day Almost always sleeps through the night Someone asked me the other day what Luke was like.  I was a little taken aback because I couldn't find the words to say to explain him.  Mostly because he's such a complex little guy.  So in honor of his (almost) 17 month milestone, I thought I'd try to capture some of his essence.  Luke is such a bright ray of sun.  He is generally pretty happy and he loves to laugh.  And when he does he laughs way deep, down in his belly.   his big ole grin He also loves food.  There are so many times that I feel like there is no possible way he could STILL be eating.  But he keeps saying "more" and signing more.  he's a happy boy for food! Letters

some of these lines have been floating around in my head for several weeks now and they just came together tonight.  It's one of those things that I just couldn't get out of my head until I wrote it down.  letters written letters read letters from souls who are dead letters carved upon a grave letters are the things I save letters written on those lines letters penned from hands that are mine letters in a spot near to my bed letters memorized in my head letters inked upon my skin letters from a voice within letters with a sense of peace letters that are meant to ease letters written letters sent letters confirming what I meant letters ushering the peace I've found letters soothe my crying sounds letters containing things unsaid All I have are letters written letters read

2014 in review

So I kinda like doing a review of the year going month by month.  Even if nothing spectacular happened.  Looking back at last year's review was tough.  But I see how far I've come in a year, and still how far I have left to go.      2014 was a tough year of grieving and moving forward with the new life that I have now.  My life is so different than it was a year ago, two years ago and three years ago.  Sometimes those days feel like a lifetime ago.   January 2014   Watched Luke teeter totter and FINALLY start to walk.  Watching him figure out the whole walking thing/ shoe thing was hilarious.  At first he acted like they were bricks and refused to walk in them.  He quickly got the hang of it though.  He also got his first real hair cut (besides being shaved bald at 5 months lol).  Big boy also turned 1!!!    1st hair cut    Baby boy turned 1 and LOVED cake
