Year end Review - 2017

As always, I feel like the end of the year is a good time for reflection.  You have to know where you've been in order to move forward.  It's like being on a ship, checking the log, and righting the ship towards the destination.  2017 was a pretty decent year at the Rollins Residence.

January 2017 -
Luke turned 4!  We had a paw patrol party for him.
Paw Patrol party for Luke!

Ellis is 8 months and is now pulling herself up to stand at things.

Big girl and Luke like to play together

February 2017 -
I turned 33.  It was not a big birthday year for me.  Nothing new to report.

Ellis is 9 months.  She and Luke are so cute together.

Luke got lots of testing done, blood work, colonoscopy, and finally allergy skin testing.  But at the end of the day, we found out that he's perfectly fine.  He's allergic to dairy, yeast, soy, apples and peanuts.

March 2017 -
Ellis is 10 months and finally learns to crawl!
Yay!  Ellis is mobile

April 2017 -
Easter was fun this year!  Luke loved to look for Easter eggs.  Ellis is only 11 months old, so she didn't get to do much.

May 2017 -
Ellis turned 1!  We had a good time celebrating with family.  We also took family pictures to make up for the other family pictures last year that Luke didn't behave that well in.  As usual, I LOVE the way they turned out.
look at these gorgeous babies!

Ellis turned 1!

love this photo of us

June 2017 -
I left the only school I've ever taught at.  It was scary to leave Dobie JHS behind, but I know that I'll still see all my Dobie crew often.

Love my 7th grade ELA team

My Dobie crew is pretty awesome!

We took a family trip to Destin, Florida.  We drove halfway and stayed in New Orleans, and then the next day we finished our trip.  It was actually a decent drive even with a 4 year old and a 13 month old baby.  I would do it again.

Car ride to Florida!  We are packed to the brim with stuff.
My favorite picture of Luke in NO at Cafe Dumond.

My favorite photo of Ellis at the beach.

July 2017 -
Ellis learns to walk finally on the 4th of July!

Freedom!

We sold our rental house.  It was sad to say good-bye but God knew that we would need that money.

You were good to us while it lasted

Richie and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary with dinner at Biga on the Banks.

August 2017 -
We took a family trip to Sea World to enjoy the last few days of summer before Mommy goes back to work.

yay Sea World!

I started a new job at Clemens High School teaching English 1 and English 3 classes.  It's been a huge change but one that I am so grateful that I took.

thumbs up Clemens
a few of my new department friends!

September 2017 -
Richie turned 35!  We had a surprise birthday dinner for him at our favorite sushi joint.  Unfortunately, Richie's job with Best Buy gets outsourced.  So he is now unemployed  :o(

Baby Ezra Joshua Schulze is born 6 weeks early!  He is such a tiny little thing but sooooo cute!

all 4lbs 6oz of him

October 2017 -
We went to the Hondo Corn Maize, had our annual pumpkin painting contest, and had fun for a split second during Halloween before we got rained on.

November 2017 -
Luke went jeeping with Nana and Papa, so I decided to paint his room and redecorate.

Luke's new room!
Luke had a blast!

December 2017 -
It actually snowed in Cibolo!  And stuck to the ground.  The kids got to go play in the snow.
such a beautiful morning
It's actual REAL LIFE snow

We celebrated another beautiful Christmas.  Ellis was finally big enough to open her own presents.
